The release of Stacy’s first renewable energy adventure for kids

Stacy has published numerous articles concerning the solutions available to combat the accelerating climate crisis. She regularly interviews experts and reports on clean energy innovations, particularly the ascent of wind and solar power and the potential for marine energy to supply emissions-free electricity to remote island nations and towns.

Her first book, When the Wind Blows — a rhyming, renewable energy adventure for children — was published by Holiday House in 2015 and was recognized by key environmental leaders, including Bill McKibben, Mark Ruffalo, Michael E. Mann and Stanford University’s Mark Z. Jacobson.

Her second book, Planet Power, which won a Nautilus Book Award, explores six renewable energy sources at work around the world. From the rushing rivers of Paraguay, the windy mountains of China, the sunny skies of India, the rising steam of Kenya, the rolling waves of Gibraltar and the predictable tides of the Unites States, Planet Power reveals how natural resources can generate clean, carbon-free electricity for the world.

Exquisitely illustrated by Annalisa Beghelli, Planet Power’s rhyming verses are accompanied by endnotes that expand the science for advancing readers and make the book a perfect addition to early childhood and elementary classrooms.

Planet Power (Barefoot Books, 2021) brings together poetry, science, art, technology and culture in a vibrant, exciting and hopeful picture book for children aged 2-10.
